EGGBC Legitimacy Statement

The Egypt Green Building council is the first and only NGO in Egypt that is affiliated with the World Green Building Council. Founded in 2011 and gaining full membership in 2015,the EGGBC is recognized as a authority on green buildings. We are a network of councils built on professionals, corporations, academics and practitioners working on developing a large network of awareness

To lead community transformation for Egypt to become a beacon of Sustainability and Green Building.
Making Green Building mainstream, creating momentum for change by raising public awareness, driving policy change and resulting in a better quality of life for all Egyptians.
EGGBC will strive to reconcile people with nature and to restore ecosystems in accordance with the triple bottom line, balancing ecological, social and economic aspects.


TARSHEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive TARSHEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification.
